Even the program is being run from many computers, the database becomes the one. The great advantage here is that, no need to bother about the software installation and corruption, security of the database as everything is getting stored in a remote server, they become more safe and secure unlike Desktop Applications.

Remote Server Applications.

Third one is the combination of both the above, the program will be a desktop application where as the client can enjoy the benefit of web application partially. Here the program will run in clients local computers within their premise but only the integrated database will be stored in a remote server. Normally clients choose these type of programs for major two reasons, one is they need to see the reports as and when required from any where and the second one is that they need to store th database more securely.
